At Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, we believe in the power of the outdoors to transform lives and are committed to providing opportunities for ALL girls to explore, grow, and thrive. We invite you to join us on July 17 to UNLOCK THE OUTDOORS to help girls grow. Whether they live in Midtown Atlanta or the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, we want to get more Georgia girls outdoors to boost their mental and physical wellbeing – and we need YOU!

Why do girls need the outdoors?

- Today’s girls are anxious, struggling with technology and social media, suffering from low self-esteem and lack of social skills. Girls need real life role models rather than the ones found on TikTok or YouTube. Girl Scouts provides a safe environment for girls to make friends, socialize, and learn from adult mentors away from a screen.

-
School-age kids spend, on average, almost 8 hours a day in front of a screen. Girl Scouts gets girls outdoors, away from screens and social media and provides a space for girls to build friendships, improving their physical and mental health.

-
Nearly 100 percent of Girl Scouts participate in at least one outdoor activity during the year. Getting outdoors can be simple! Girls receive the benefits of time outside through a summer at day camp, a troop trip, an outdoor badge-earning program, or a community service project. Experiences like these can only come from the best, data-driven leadership organization for girls in the world: Girl Scouts.

-
Outdoor experiences empower girls to develop crucial leadership skills, confidence, and resilience. By immersing themselves in nature, Girl Scouts learn to solve problems, work collaboratively, and discover their strengths.

To sum it up, when you support Girl Scouts getting outside, you're investing in the health and happiness of local girls.

With your generous support, our goal is to raise $50,000 to UNLOCK THE OUTDOORS for Georgia Girl Scouts.

Every dollar raised stays local to help girls grow confidence, develop flourishing friendships, and weed out negativity to improve mental health.

Thanks to the generosity of The Rudolph Family and Julie Hairston, all gifts up to $7,500 will be doubled, dollar for dollar. That means that a $25 donation will be doubled to be a $50 donation and get every MORE girls outdoors!

How can you help?

You can help in three easy ways!

1. Donate:
Your gift will make a difference in the lives of local girls. You may not have donated to Girl Scouts before and that’s okay. However, if you want to be a part of building girls of courage, confidence and character, donate today to help us reach our goal.

2. Spread the Word: Be a Girl Scout advocate and unlock the outdoors for more girls by sharing our mission with your friends, family, and colleagues. Together, we can raise awareness and inspire others to help girls grow.

3. Get Outdoors: Channel your inner Girl Scout and plan an outdoor event for you and your friends.
